Thambi, Actor Madhavan's action based film. The film that Madhavan describes as, "My first full-fledged action movie," features the actor as a good Samaritan with a heart of gold and fist of iron. Thambi is a rural based subject.
Madhavan says, "Yes, the role is strongly inspired by Nana Patekar in 'Krantiveer'. Like Nana I play a social crusader who takes on a corrupt system. My rhetorical speeches where I condemn the current socio-political system are the film Thambi's highlight. They would remind audiences of Nana in a big way."
Pooja is the heroine of the film Thambi and plays the ladylove of Madhavan. Vadivelu is for comedy and for a important role in this film. Vidyasagar is the music composer and the story, dialogues, screenplay and direction by Seeman. V.T. Vijayan is the editor cinematography by Balasubramaniam. Thambi cast includes Madhvan, Pooja, Manivannan, Illavarasu, Chandrasekar, Manobala and others.
